Switching clients

Hello to all! :)

Is it possible to uninstall WCG client, install BOINC and keep the scores that that device received with WCG client? ...

e.g. Device name: Blabla with WCG client has 300.000 points, and I switch to BOINC client. Will i have Device name: Blabla with 300.000 points + points awarded while using BOINC client, or I'll have 2 devices with same name but different client icon and points for new device that start from 0?

Thanks!

Re: Switching clients

Hello MiToZ,
You will have a new device. Rename Blabla to Blabla-001 then rename your new device Blabla. A device is really a unique Device ID# assigned on registration. Forever afterward, the server will accept messages with that Device ID# and assign points to it. After 2 weeks without reporting it will drop off your menu unless you pull down the drop-down menu and ask to see all your devices. The name you assign a device is just a human convenience. Unless you are one of those people who memorize a Windows activation code at a glance. laughing

Re: Switching clients

Thank you for your swift answer :) ... I really don't have a problem with devices showing on my Statistics screen, it just seems plain wrong to show that I have 23 devices, when in fact I have only 8 :)
