just got bionic running when i try to attach a project this one that is
i get this error project encountered internal error;shared memory wot does this mean and how do i rectify this thanks |

Hello coffeemad,
----------------------------------------I don't know. BOINC is supposed to be working now ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=9948#77412 ) but the project server just came up a little more than half an hour ago after being out for two hours. Perhaps for maintenance or changes? In case this is a problem with the server, I suggest you try waiting a few hours. Monday we will have the WCG staff back for technical questions. I checked the BOINC Wiki at http://boinc-wiki.ath.cx/index.php?title=Main_Page but a Google site search could not find your error message, so I'm past my level of competence. Oh, it would be cool if the system was called 'bionic'.
Nothing so interesting, though. It's BOINC, the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing. Mind you, 'bionic' does give the impression of a human/computer hybrid system, and it's true that humans are an essential part of the BOINC system. That's especially true right now, when WCG staff pagers are going off in the early hours of Sunday morning.... |
