I installed the windows grid client on my work PC without a problem, but after starting it I can't login even after setting the proxy settings from here.
Is there a possibility to solve this problem? |

Hi otaku85
----------------------------------------Welcome to WCG. What's the exact error message and have u tried by temporarily switching off the firewall, if any? Have u followed the instructions on this page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSearch.do?searchString=proxy cheers

Well...I'm not the Administrator here and it's just that the proxy is very strict. With a bit afford for example I can use a jabber client, but it reconnects very often.
----------------------------------------"Error in Sending login information to the grid server".... I tried it with and without our proxy settings. No chance at all to go through. And yes the internet works of course. There is surely no firewall on (local), the windows firewall is completely off. But there is of course the big company firewall. SSL tunneling would be the only way, which could really work. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 15, 2006 9:52:51 AM] |

otaku85,
----------------------------------------I'd not recommend trying to circumvent the company firewall or proxies or other network securities. 1. Did the Company approve the installation, on presumably a company computer? 2. If private PC, did company approve the connection to company network? 3. If 1 or 2 yes, speak to administrator for resolution! cheers.

I had the same problem. I went to internet settings and then LAN and found explorer was running through some address. I put that address in the WCG program and boom it worked.
