Don't worry I haven't forgotten about November
----------------------------------------I'll get back to you It's been a loooooooong week Hopefully tomorrow but no promises I have a MySQL server to beat into submission first it's refusing to talk to me on port 3306. It's not understanding that I'm the boss and I have the root password. It's a Mexican standoff at the moment let's see who blinks first .Once I have it working as a spin off those Sread the Word stats should render that bit quicker Wish me luck I'm going back in ![]() ![]() |

Sussed it Lawrence
----------------------------------------It being all open source and the they like to put a few hurdles between you and the holy grail It was the usual burried deep an FAQ stuff and hours searching on Google apparently they changed the way the password is used for MySQL version 5 so I had to enter some set password to old style command line doodar then create a config file in a config directory that didn't exist run a script copy the file magically created into the root directory and then delete the config directory that I'd just created. Obvious really I don't know what I was thinking expecting it to just work Now it's plain sailing now I've tweaked the memory allocation to realistic Year 2006 values. Thank goodness I am running it on a Windows Box otherwise there would be no end of Chmod'ing going on Any way back awake at the same time as the sun shines which makes a change MySQL5 0 Dave Autumns 1 ![]() ![]() |
