It would really be nice to see what unmodified processors with their installed memory are doing. And then, compare with multicore, multiprocessors are doing.
Something like: CPU (# cores) [# processors] system/RAM #WU/Hr run time Mod? Rmk Opt185 1 4 XP 4GB 2.1 No -- Mot68k 2 1 Linx 2GB 1.8 Y -- etc. Maybe a standard form that one can go to to fill out info on the individual boxes they have so that the community can see what's what. The #WU per hour run time could be calculated near real time from the WCG system's last update. The info would be real interesting on a WCG/Wiki public web page. COMMENTS ?? |

It would be interesting, but not necessarily valid. Interesting nonetheless.

At one time we had some recordings. The one based on the UD agent is here.
----------------------------------------We started one for the BOINC community but soon it was soon contaminated and fell even further into meaninglessness at which point I (the maintainer) lost interest. Due to vagaries introduced by optimized clients and other issues, I did not feel it was valuable enough to warrant the time it took. There is a spreadsheet located here that recorded what I captured. It has a few macros in it to sort the data but nothing harmful. If you disable macros, you can still see the unsorted data. Please understand that the only ones that I verify as correct are the ones that I posted myself. Too Bad it worked out that way. Oh Well. Thanks for contributing to the WCG. It is a great cause. |
