longer WU

Is it just my pc? I think it used to take my pc 8 hours to finish a WU. Today I noticed the to completion time on boinc shows 10:30. Has anyone else notice this? Just wanted to make sure that my PC isnt slowing down.

Re: longer WU

FAAH WU's are pretty uniform in time to completion but there are oddballs that can take more or less time to crunch. It's normal, nothing to worry about.

Re: longer WU

Olympic is probably correct but there can be other reasons. Watch this over a few dozen work units and if there is a sustained slowdown, perhaps there is a problem with the hardware or a trojan or somthing similar. It is worth watching closely.

Thank You for contributing to this great cause.

speaking from recent experience:

If a laptop, make sure you haven't set the to a setting other
than maximum performance. You can see who or what is
competing for CPU by ctrl-alt-del , clicking on task manager,
clicking on CPU (maybe a couple of times to sort high to low)
and see who and/or what is burning CPU cycles unexpectedly.
