I think it would a very useful feature to have the option at install to participate without registering. It would simplify things greatly for large scale rollouts plus some people just aren't interested in getting points: they just want to install it and let it be, forcing people to register may put some off.

That's not the main reason for registering. The reason for registering is that much of the configuration is done through the web interface. Point tracking is just a sideshow.
But for large scale rollouts, there are ways of setting it up so you don't have to individually register each machine. Are you contemplating a major rollout? If so, we can help. |
