UTC clock

biggrin It would be nice to have the current UTC time located at the top of the web pages. There it coulde be referenced as a reference point when forum information or statisical information is presented. biggrin

Re: UTC clock

But why?

You can set the forum timezone to suit your local time, and all the statistics pages give a relative time (as in "last updated x hours ago").

A clock would be superfluous, and misleading on stale pages.

I agree.

If the clock in the forum is set to local time, every time based reference then needs to be mentally recalculated or the global tyranny of local time useage might become prevalent amongst users creating incalculable confusion to all.

A clock showing current Universal Time seems like an excellent idea to this Antipodean biggrin

Cheers. ozylynx smile

Re: UTC clock

He' ozylynx, you can always walk on hands ;>)...but agreed, today 06:00 UTC is 08:00 CET.....around October 29 it will become 07:00 CET. For u its even worse....you've got places with mid hour time zones.

I've set the forum time zone to my local one +1 Rome, but posts still show UTC times +1....must be my computer or the fact that it's not recognizing summer time on the forum?

Of course, the Brits will be on UTC for the next 6 months......alternate proposal.....update all according the International Date line clock.... pretty much neutral territory for most......

Endorse the WCG Universal Time Clock idea.....place under that permanent / button.
