Begin? It ended years ago, and had nothing to do with WCG.
Future WCG projects are not announced ahead of time. |

Decrypthon utilisera WCG lorsqu'ils passeront en grille "internaute" (réponse par mail du contact sur le site secrypthon.fr)

I lack your multi-lingual skills.
However, it is probable that WCG will run more folding projects in the future, so you may have stumbled on something. It's pure speculation though, and I can tell you definitely that no such project is scheduled for this year. |

No time table yet. This refers to a French Muscular Dystrophy project. I mentioned in an earlier post that our next two projects come from non-English speaking countries. This is one of the two. It is a Fortran program, so we will have to develop a library of subroutines for boarding Fortran projects.
By now we are working up a large backlog of things to do: BOINC Simple GUI, BOINC Account Manager, website statistics, website HTML, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese language support, HPF2 debug. Vista is coming. The most recent approved version of BOINC supports compression, but we cannot start compressing everything on the BOINC server until our members upgrade to it. The next version of BOINC is expected to support CPU throttling. Still, our priorities are plain. Projects are our mission. Everything else is simply a nice frill that we hope our members will find helpful. It is hard to guess just when something will be ready. In the case of the Muscular Dystrophy project, we are barely begun. Lawrence |

Me and my big mouth. I should have studied those links more carefully.
Decrypthon is a French acronym which possibly stands for "Decryption of the Human Genome and Muscular Dystrophy Telethon". Decrypthon is a high-level word that is used to cover a lot of things happening by AFM (the French muscular dystrophy association) and a number of other institutions. We are indeed going to run a project for the Decrypthon group soon. Lawrence may have said a little more than he ought - consider it a reward for being so proactively inquisitive ;-) Remember, neither Lawrence, myself, or any CA work for IBM. |

Lawrence Thanks for you answer Lawrence and sorry for my "frenglish" A lot of french and french speaking people is awaiting to crunch for this project, not only because it is french, but also because people here have been well informed by the medias about this type of disease. Our team, l'Alliance Francophone will for sure dedicate some computing power to this project. Hope this project will be launched soon |
