Notes from (Protein Folding) Project Manager

Notes from the Project Manager (Protein Folding in this case)

How about a regular commentary on the results of the project (or any other aspect of the project) by some informed member of the sponsored project team? If this were a tab on the home page (or even in the members area) it could provide great flexibility in satisfying curiosity about the project as well as updates on how its going, and I think it would be very motivating to those of us contributing cycles.

IF this already exists, than excuse me, and please send me a pointer ;-)

Sounds GREAT!! And it could be written with the idea in mind of interesting columnists and supplementing press releases. At some point, we are going to feel ready to push for publicity. Might as well combine morale-raising with publicity.

Good idea!

It would be nice to hear a little bit about the progress and general goings-on of the project. That way we could all feel like we're really on the inside.

Re: Notes from (Protein Folding) Project Manager

I'd like to see a forum on the project's biology. how many proteins are we going for? How much progress? Est'd time to completion of the project? And a question: I've seen nothing in the Rosetta discussion that suggests it considers mitochondrial translational sequence when determining structure stability. If an early part of the translated protein forms a stable conformation, that may be permanently locked (& buried within) and should be considered along with the energetic stability (environment & pairing).

angry Re: Notes from (Protein Folding) Project Manager

My Humblest Apologies; I am NOT the Protein Folding Project Manager.

I chose a very unfortunate and apparently misleading title for my suggestion.

I was, in fact, suggesting that the Project Manager could offer some regular or semiregular commentary.

I'm sorry for the confusion.
