confused Are two devices calculating the same protein?

I have installed WorldCommunityGridAgent on one device. But on another device,i just copy the UD.EXE (from other device's destination directory of WorldCommunityGridAgent installation) and run it, it seems ok, but the pictures of "Current Protein" calculating on the two devices seem the same, so i am puzzling whether the two devices are calculating the same protein, or they just look like the same, they are different proteins actuality. I can't find any more information of "Current Protein" except for the picture. How can i make it clear?

cool Re: Are two devices calculating the same protein?

This will require an official response, but unless the installation program registered a second device with the server, I doubt that the server would assign a separate Work Unit to your second computer and keep track of it. It is fine to replicate the installation program from one computer to another. But copying the result of an installation should not work.

If you just copied the .exe, it downloaded a different workunit.

Re: Are two devices calculating the same protein?

I just copy the UD.exe, not including any other files and directories. Wish it is another workunit !

cool Re: Are two devices calculating the same protein?

Rick Alther says it is a different Work Unit. One possible way to check. There is a .PDB file in the World Community Grid directory that defines the protein bases. If you have two different .PDB files, then you are working on two different proteins. But there are many different Work Units for each protein. Viktors said in a post that a random seed number is associated with each Work Unit to try out different folding configurations.
