Why uninterrupted execution? suggesting for save/resume feature ....

Hi all, i am happy to participate in this kind of programs ...

but i would like to suggest implementing the feature about save/resume the task being done, otherwise the computer cant be switched down till task ends .. and depending the the CPU it may mean more than 12 hours ...; it is a pity to lose hours of process because having to reboot computer, and so

thanks for considering this suggestion ...

best regards

Re: Why uninterrupted execution? suggesting for save/resume feature ....

P.S. : i forgot to add that adding the save/resume feature would require other strategy about finishing the task and delivering in time, thus maybe asking for setting a deadline for the task to be completed and delievered ...(so the task doesnt get endlessly frozen) ; i know all sides of the matter should be taken around the suggestion ...

Have no fears, the WCG agent saves the progress so far as often as possible.

Nearly all work units will save (checkpoint) many times during the computation. Some save every few minutes.

You will always lose a little bit of work when you reboot or interrupt the agent, but hopefully it won't be much.
