How tight are we on work?

Me/We are by now familiar with this message:
06-09-20 8:38:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work can be sent for the projects you have selected
06-09-20 8:38:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other projects if no work is available for the projects you selected
06-09-20 8:38:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: Sending work from other projects

Now, this is the second time i'm getting this:
06-09-21 9:01:10|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work could be sent.
06-09-21 9:01:10|World Community Grid|Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms)
06-09-21 9:01:10|World Community Grid|No work from project

Are the stocks this desperately low, that WCG cant provide work at all to WOS on BOINC?

What operating system are you encountering this message on? Also, we have plenty of work in the queue for BOINC at the moment.

Re: How tight are we on work?

Hi Uplinger

WOS = Windows Operating System......hour later to this post, on hitting update got 12 HDC's in batches sizes of 2,2,3,2,3 every 10 minutes or so ......just razzles thru them......

think a better balance is called for sending 'alternate' work because the 1st message most always is followed with sending 6/8/10 FAAH's which is not the designated prime project....that than lasts 2/3 days to clear.

thx

Re: How tight are we on work?

Hi Sekerob,
there was work but it was committed to other platforms

Last year knreed commented that this message was caused by the scheduling algorithm doing something that I did not fully understand - something like a temporary stack of available work units emptying and not being replenished until he banged on the server with a wrench. So I have it listed as a problem with the software design for issuing work units that will occasionally pop up.

Re: How tight are we on work?

well similarly to the knreed doing some to the FAAH validator server, we now know that he operates a to urge the work distributor server on...... eventually i see him reverting to more permanent action like or ..... then Didactylos in English understating style will write that WCG is on Hiatus.
