FightAIDS@Home Graphics Beta Test (BOINC)

We will be launching our first official beta test sometime in the next few hours. We will be testing our first project graphics. The science application itself is the same as the science application running in the official FightAIDS@Home project. However, we are running this test to make sure that we do not introduce any new errors into the application.

The graphics are available on the Windows platform only. We will be running 500 workunits through and if we are satisfied that it is running well then we will release this to the general public.

You can check to see if you are signed up to contribue to the BOINC beta testing by visiting this page: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewBetaProfiles.do

There will be a seperate 'project' statistics page that will show how much run time, points and results have been returned for the beta test. All time you earn for the beta test will be credited to you in the same way that any other project is credited to you.

Re: FightAIDS@Home Graphics Beta Test (BOINC)

Thank you for participating in the first round of beta testing the FightAIDS@Home graphics. We appreciate your feedback, information and the ability to test this on a larger set of computers then we could have done with our internal systems.

We had a total of 440 computers from over 220 members participate. This is outstanding and we appreciate your contribution.

We have ljust aunched a second round of this beta test.

The first round of the beta test resulted in a client error rate of twice the rate then what occurs with the FightAIDS@Home project. We have added some additional checks to try capture where there errors are occurring so that we can resolve this before releasing it to the general public.

We have also tweaked some of the graphics themself.

As with all Beta tests we have put short deadlines on the workunits. These have been set to have a deadline of 3 days. This allows us to get the test conducted quickly.
