Can the aging process be stopped?

The last I heard was something about 'telomere shortening'.

Does anyone study this topic?

Hi halfcard,
Telomere shortening has been a major research topic for decades. It is a major safeguard against runaway cell reproduction (cancer). There are various methods that cancerous cells use to overcome it.
