I have only one project selected "Help Defeat Cancer" and did not elect to run
other jobs if there is no WU waiting. When I look at the running jobs this is the output. Do the jobs "faah" mean I am working on "Fight Aids At Home" which is a project I have not selected to run? 04:18:11 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb374_mx1gno_08.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb374_mx1gno_08.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb374_mx1gno_08.dpf 03:31:46 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb372_mx1gno_03.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb372_mx1gno_03.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb372_mx1gno_03.dpf 03:30:47 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb383_mx1gno_dry_06.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb383_mx1gno_dry_06.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb383_mx1gno_dry_06.dpf 01:22:14 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb412_mx1gno_dry_04.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb412_mx1gno_dry_04.dpf 00:00:00 wcg_faah_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu -dpf faah0765_bdb412_mx1gno_dry_04.dpf |

You are quite correct.
Bear in mind that it takes a little while for your settings to propagate to the agent. Also, check that you saved your preferences properly, and changed the settings for the correct device profile. Finally, consider that there often won't be work available for HDC. |

Thanks for the response.
It's not that I value one project more than others. I'm trying to understand the environment and how to possibly roll it out on a larger scale. I assumed, using the ( worldcommunitygrid )'s web page, under "My Projects", that all the profiles would inherit these settings. I have modified the ( BOINC ) agent to see if the WU's name changes. |

Your assumption would have been correct a week ago but recent upgrades now allow each profile to have its own set of projects. Sounds like you've got it figured now.
If considering a large scale roll out you may want to browse this thread if you haven't already. |

I was thinking more along the lines of HP Superdome, AlphaServers, Sun UE10000+, and other high end systems. An easier way to roll out UNIX is what I would be looking for.

You'll find broad support for Windows, Mac and Linux but the various flavors of Unix are a different story. IIRC, the BOINC website doesn't have a version of BOINC for Unix but if you ask in the forums at the BOINC site you may find someone who has compiled their own, BOINC being open source
The actual crunching is performed by science applications unique to each project. WCG doesn't support Unix at this time and their science apps are proprietary so you won't be able to run WCG projects on Unix. There is a list of projects at the BOINC site. You may find 1 that supports Unix. |
