Re open throttle feature

Hi all. I feel really stupid asking this, i just know it's going to be something really obvious that i have missed.

Today i downloaded and installed the cpu throttle feature. I moved it to 80% and clicked ok. What i want to do now is re open this window/tool thing to move the slider to 90% but i can't find the program in the start menu, the program list or anywhere.

How do i re open the throttle thing?

Many thanks.

Re: Re open throttle feature

Hello AustraliaBlue,

Congratulations! We need an installation program to add it to Start - Programs. I checked my UD client computer. I found it at My Computer - Drive C: - Program Files - World Community Grid - WCGridMaxCPU.exe

The question is, did I move it there from My Downloads (which is where I have set my preferred download location)? Probably. If so, you can bring up Windows Explorer and Search for WCGridMaxCPU.exe to find out where your downloaded programs are stored. Then copy it to World Community Grid.

Re: Re open throttle feature

Hey there lawrencehardin

The file WCGridMaxCPU.exe is not located in C:\Program Files\WorldCommunityGrid

Have used Windows Explorer to search for WCGridMaxCPU.exe it was not found.

Now what? Just download the thing all over again and/or each time i want to change the % of cpu?

Seems kinda silly, i thought it was going to like an installed program that i could just go and open up when ever i wanted.

Thankyou.

Re: Re open throttle feature

Hello AustraliaBlue,
I think that you must have chosen Run rather than Store to Disk when you downloaded it. This time, Store it. Then move it to World Community Grid so that you can always find it.

We need to create an installation program that will do all this automatically, and create a listing for it.

Re: Re open throttle feature

That makes sense, i can get it to work now.

I did click run rather than save. I'm used to things installing etc anyway when i click run.

I so silly.
