You really don't want to know. It's all (mostly) cleaned up now, and a member was permanently banned from the forum, after ignoring two official warnings.
Now he's drama queening by proxy.... *sigh* |

so he is getting others to post for him now? I guess some people never get the point that enough is enough. I am sure glad those on our team are respectful for each other. By the way, I had a great time on vacation. I went to Alaska on a cruise for 2 weeks. I think I want to move there.

I live in a desert, and Alaska is beautiful. I am the type that I prefer openness, trees, fishing, hunting, etc. Alaska has all of that to offer. |

Hey, I know EXACTLY how you feel! I took a 2 week cruise up there last August/September, and it was INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL... especially Denali -- I was there just when the leaves were all changing colors, which was an unexpected bonus. Alaska is definitely better looking than ANYTHING you 'll see in a desert! (and the temperatures are much more enjoyable too!!!) ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 12, 2007 4:29:48 AM] |

It was supposed to take 8 hours, but actually took 11. It felt like 2. We saw so much wild life, it was unbelievable. 5 Grizzlies, 100's of caribou (reindeer), a lynx, numerous types of birds, etc. 2 of the 3 adult grizzlies we saw had cubs. We watched one pair for over a half hour. It was great to watch the two wrestle. They even got within 100 yards of our bus. |

The Huskies must be crazy up there ... or fuzzy.
----------------------------------------When somebody goes to Alaska, visit the Adak National Forest. http://telephone.bouwman.com/Adak/forest.html Sign Says, "You are now ENTERING and LEAVING The ADAK NATIONAL FOREST" There is a pet cemetery to the left of the forest. We've got this place: http://texasescapes.com/WestTexasTowns/NotreesTexas/NotreesTx.htm They did have ONE tree, but it was bulldozed to build some petroleum related plant. But for concentrated tourist activity I like Mentone, the county seat of Loving County. There's about 25 people in Mentone and 60 in the whole county. http://texasescapes.com/TOWNS/Mentone_Texas/Mentone.htm They do have a cafe, but it's hard to tell whether it's open or not. We think that their last payphone is still there. Water has to be trucked in.
