This has now been sorted and the entries removed from Google et al will be removed over the next few days. Regards Dave
----------------------------------------Surely it would have been a simple task to put a robot.txt file to deny search engine access to the contents of the forum. No post on grid.org is visible on Google how come WCG have let this happen? I realise that the contents of the posts are not very private but its one thing posting to users in the forum and another having that information fully searchable on Google. there is now a robots.txt file at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/robots.txt
looks to me like this will cause well behaved search engines to not crawl and index the forums. Still, if you are worried about bad guys getting your email address, then you shouldn't publish it in a public place. Even if this forum isn't indexed by search engines, it still can be read by people/robots that choose to ignore the robots.txt file. Thanks admins for adding the file  |

Graham Here I have just done a Google Search and all my posts are also visible from the Google search engine. Should this be happening, or is there a way for Admin to fix it Notice i did not say will they fix it They must heed us sooner or later before people start posting inflamatory threads about lack of feedback |
