How are the points for WU reported to BOINC? My Grid at this moment shows my Accumulated Points at 1,937, but BOINC shows work done at 276.72 which is equal to my Avg. Points Per Result. Why the difference?
I searched here for an answer but couldn't find anything. Thanks. Mike ![]() |

Hi, Frostbite Mike. The Points of BOINC are multiplied by 7 to arrive at an equal WCG value of work as if you would have used WCG's UD.Agent.....
----------------------------------------276.72 x 7=1937 ciao

So in BOINC's mind I've only done 276 WU's then? Why the difference I wonder? The way it is calculated by each program?Mike ![]() |

Hello Frostbite Mike,
On the WCG you can be awarded points by the UD client or by the BOINC client. Points are computed differently, but 7 UD points = 1 BOINC point is a rough and ready equivalence arrived at by trial and error. Since the points are computed differently (apples vs oranges) this is a bit arbitrary. Lawrence |
