Tried to reply to e-mail as stated but was rejected. Enclosed is WCG e-mail and my reply.
Dear bklungle, World Community Grid would like to thank you for the 366 days of run time and 1,177 results that you have contributed to the efforts of humanitarian research. Our records show that you have not returned a result since April 13, 2006. This can occur if you purchased a new PC and did not install the grid software on that computer or because you encountered some technical difficulties and removed the software. We are sending you this email to encourage you to begin contributing again. You can help researchers solve some of the most pressing problems by participating in one the following projects: Human Proteome Folding FightAIDS@Home You can resume contributing to these research projects by downloading and installing the grid software. If you stopped contributing because the grid agent was using too much of your computer resources, then you should consider running it as a screen saver only. If you stopped contributing due to some unresolved technical problem, then we encourage you to contact us by replying to this email so that we can help resolve any problems you were experiencing. Additionally, you can find answers to many questions in the help section of our website or in the forums. As you may know, navigating through World Community Grid requires a member name and a password. Your member name is shown in the salutation of this email. If you have forgotten your password and would like to recover it, then please use the Forgot Password feature on our website to recover it. If you wish to unsubscribe to this and all future emails from World Community Grid please click here. Thank you for all of your existing and future contributions. World Community Grid *** REPLY *** Have been running Proteome and AIDS continuously (not under BOINC). Apparently stopped reporting in early April. Don’t know why. Other than that, seems to be running well. It may be that it is reporting under the device name “rat” and this is the wrong one??? Checked devices and server records only show “cat” (another machine). If this is the case, how do I fix it? If not, same question?? Incidentally, also running SETI under BOINC and it is working and reporting. Cheers…bob *** Failed reply *** Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. That was just a broadcast message sent out to everyone who hadn't returned a result for awhile.

The other one (rat or cat) must have been from another member name or something. The HPF phase 1 project ended recently. HPF1 is still there to allow any old workunit cleanups, but the only active projects are HPF2 and FAAH. You don't say anything about your computer, but it could have fallen below the 250Mb memory and 550MHz speed required now for both projects, so it isn't getting anything. Slower machines can still use the BOINC interface, but it is a battle to get anything done within the 1 week WCG/BOINC reporting deadline. I doubt whether the techies could actually determine anything from April. That's a bit of a while ago. If you actually try to download a project, what happens. If you only receive 3300 bytes or so and the server pauses, the computer is below the minimum. Try something and tell us what happens. I don't think there is enough here to give any clues.

I would recommend adding World Community Grid to your BOINC installation. It sounds as though you are running BOINC and UD in parallel with SETI and WCG, respectively. While this shouldn't be a problem, it could be that BOINC is taking most of your extra CPU cycles and not leaving enough for UD to finish crunching the work units in time to get them back to us.
If you need help attaching to the World Community Grid project in BOINC, please have a look at these instructions , or post on the forums here. |

Ah....i'm back......see the 'Threadmaster' succes story thread. Got BOINC running at 80% (1 week deadline) and UD at 15% (3 week deadline)......and 5% for me ;>) Utilisation on my hyperthreaded machine went marginally up with that

bklungle,
----------------------------------------You created a new member name the last time that you installed the software. You can see your three member names listed here . They all use the same email address as the email address associated with bklungle. Kevin [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at Jul 7, 2006 6:52:27 PM] |

I see what you mean.
Looks like reporting is being done under Robert Klungle instead of bklungle. Is there any way to combine them into one?? cheers...bob |

I am running a dual 2.8GHz system (Intel) with 2.0 GB Memory and 0.664 TB disk space (TB = Terrabyte). Both processors are running BOINC and UD. Everything runnnig fine but no results appearing at Server for UD. Seems to be only SETI under BOINC showing up.
See following reply re combining names. cheers...bob |

Bob,
----------------------------------------Don't know what you were expecting to see where, but BOINC points go thru a translation phase for WCG. If you generate 100 BOINCS, then they will multiply by 7 i.e report at WCG as 700. Points previously generated on UD Agent dont translate back to BOINC points, hence you wont see them in BOINC Agent. Only place you can see the combined points of UD+BOINC is in the 'My Grid' stats on this site. UD Agent will thus only show UD agent points, from under the name/device you registered the particular agent/device. As for name combining, that needs the hand of higher powers, till then you need to choose which username you prefer going forward. Anytime you register an UD device you have to tell it 'existing member', else it will force you to choose a new name......probably the reason you got 3. PS i looked in he WCG BOINC stats: Here. There's no name anything similar to yours, when searching just on 'klun' except for klunkee42, so have you registered and set up a BOINC profile? Note that if you did it only at 8:42am or thereabouts, the name wont show until stat updates are run at BOINCstats.....dont know what their schedule is, but seems to be only once or twice a day. Let us know and we (anyone volunteering to help you along) can take it further. There's lots of reading info available here on the forum on the help @ WCG and also places like the BOINC wiki's (the official and the unofficial!)

Is your BOINC username bklungle (it's listed under "Account" on the Projects tab)? If so, just continue crunching using that name and you'll be okay from here out. |
