Why are there teams in world community grid? I mean, what are the benefits/ significances of creating or joining a team??

It's a way for like-minded people to get together and engage in a little friendly competition.
It's entirely optional, but teams do help motivate us to keep improving and growing the grid. |

Why not? There is no points penalty, and individual points are added to team points for another view of things.

Why are there teams in world community grid? I mean, what are the benefits/ significances of creating or joining a team?? Why join a team? Good question, and many of us will give you the best answers. Teams provide tech support if you got a problem. Provide friendly competition amongst each other. Friendly team competition. A great way to meet people from other parts of the world. Provide a smaller community linking us to the world community. A chance to meet some great people. Keep you updated on the latest news. And the list I'm sure can go on and on. |

Question has been answered, but is more appropriate for the Chat Room. Scratched the remaining hairs on the back of my head, 2 left, 1 right, 1 swung all the way to the forehead as to why a 'team' related discussion was moved from the team section to the chat section........i know, the power of a WCG moderator not appreciating x-room x-team genuine fun. Why teams: Gives identify and adoption! Same as i'm living under Italian flag  , but crunching with Dutch Power  .....one day they will rule the waves (again), as in the 17th century
