Gerald, I have to wonder if it's something like what I've heard about from a medical team here locally. This team of doctors implants little radioactive pellets that slowly kill the prostate cells, cancerous and otherwise. The metal casings for the pellets show up quite well of course on images they use to target the additional ratiation treatments.

However, since Spikey used the term photon technology, I have to wonder if some sort of laser thing that uses heat to kill the cancer cells.

It could be similar to something the local hospital here promotes that they call cyberknife. I believe that it's a form of radiation treatment that I heard of a few years back out in California. They start with a 3D "map" of the tumor and this set up shoots it with a low dose of radiation, one that doesn't harm the tissue it goes thru getting to the tumor. They repeats that a whole bunch of times at different angles. The result is that the tumor gets a large dose and the effect on surrounding tissue is minimized.

Also, a lot of times, you can get a good bit of information by checking out the web site for that hospital too.
