The wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.07_windows_intelx86 in the log is the application required to process work unit za072_00085_2. Apparently, BOINC tried to download the recent update for the application. Not sure but it looks like the download glitched which in turn caused the checksum and signature verification to fail. In other words, BOINC didn't trust the updated executable because it did not download correctly so BOINC refused to use it.

I think BOINC will probably attempt to download that executable again if you're patient but maybe not.

What version of BOINC are you using?

You need a recent version that supports SSL. Avoid alpha versions - install one of the stable releases.

Think to have seen another thread where someone used 5.5.0 alpha who had this certificate issue. 5.4.9 is the official one to be safe. 5.6x will be the next production version due our later.

BOINC is in the process of changing the way it uses SSL so that it only accepts valid signed certificates (currently they will accept self-signed certificates).

The BOINC version 5.5.0->5.5.4 all had an problem with the SSL becuase the CA bundle was not properly included with the SSL implementation. This has been resolved (although I have not tested in personally) and will be available in the next alpha version (and the version 5.5's are definitely alpha right now - lot of new stuff going into it and it needs time to get finished).

If you need to return a result then back level to the current supported version - 5.4.9 and try again.

Let me guess...a log file of the Results Status Pages from a HPF2 WU you've returned.....status probably 'inconclusive' ????? Happened to have seen one by coincidence this morning crying

parblue symaski62, the ending code 'Zeroh' indicates it was received without an error code. These beginning failure codes i've seen a few times.....they do not seem to matter....it's the last one that is the key.

Since you pulled this from the Results Satus Detail, hit the WU specific link and you can see how each, that processed the same WU returned it, but that you know......so tell us, is it sitting in Pending Validation, or Inconclusive that made you send this?.......nothing to worry about, issue covered in many a thread on this forum....eventually a few others will finish the same WU and points credited, unless in conclusion the code turns into Error or Invalid (bar exceptions).

PS, could you edit your post for formatting errors.....its causing the messages to shift to the right.
