devilish What happened to CUBA?

When I played a bit with the pages in the member area I found the page where you can select your home country. Imagine my astonishment when I found that I could pretend to live in NIUE (2100 inhabitants) or even on Bouvet Island (Zero inhabitants, all pop. data from CIA world factbook), but someone had decided not to give me the choice of pretending to be Cuban! confused

1) This thingy is called the "WORLD" Community Grid. How about including the world?.

2) I thought this project was supposed to be free of all these petty little things like nationalism, profiteering, and ideology. This little omission lets the project look more and more like an American Project.

3) Sad, really.

Chris

At least we have Wyoming now, listed as a USA state. If anybody can find any other missing parts of the globe, let's add them to this thread.

Wow, thank you Uncle Sam!

First I thought that someone simply paid more attention to the selection of smilies than the selection of countries. I never suspected that someone actually rewrote the atlas to not include Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lybia, and who knows what else. shock

Re: What happened to CUBA?

We're going to get a list of all countries from the UN register and try to add the missing ones.

Re: What happened to CUBA?

May I suggest an easier route:
The cool CIA cool Word factbook (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/)
has a complete list of countries that also looks suspiciously similar to the country list used by the WCG project (before the WCG list was 'cleaned').

liar If the CIA can publically admit that there is a country called coffee CUBA coffee , why can't IBM? liar
