Inefficiency HPF 2

I have noticed that there is a big difference between HPF2 and FAAH, and even HPF1. The latter two projects use 100% of the CPU-power available, while HPF2 wastes about a part of it.

Core 1 exclusively runs Folding@Home. Core 2 runs WCG, with HPF 2 at the moment. Notice the drops in CPU-usage of Core 2. I think that is a problem with the HPF2-software.

It might have been a problem with my computer. But I have two other (non-dual core) computers that are now running HPF2, and they show the exact same problem.

Can anyone comment on this problem?

I think you're seeing the effects of the new throttling feature.

See here for further information, together with instructions for getting back up to speed:

Hi chocolatelover,

Good to see you on this forum and thanks for joining our team! cool I don't know if you are reading the GoT forums, but there is some chatting going on about WCG.
If you install BOINC, your processor will utilize the full capacity of your core(s). BOINC also has a lot more options for configuring your preferences. Like utilizing more cores or processors for one or more projects at a time.
Please also check out http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1141521 for your daily status in the DPC-rankings. wink
Have a nice weekend!

Thank you for alerting me.

I installed BOINC and downloaded the WCG-part, but it didn't work. And I didn't like the interface much. Though that will not be a problem for WCG, I have other computers running with WCG wink
