I cannot log-in to "my grid" using Vista & IE7 ... seems the HTTPS page does not conform to MS standards.
Everything is fine in Firefox. Don't know if it needs "fixing" at all. ![]() |

MS has a non-standards conforming browser, which is still in Beta (IE7), so start writing...Dear Bill........but in meantime check if your "trusted sites" has https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ included

At this point, I feel compelled to point out that both Opera and Firefox do not, in fact, conform to the W3C standards either. Even where they do all conform, they don't necessarily conform in the same way :-(

Can you share the message it gave about the certificate? I examined the certificate, and there's nothing wrong with it.
Other than that, you should have a trawl through the security settings, and familiarise yourself with any changes. Make sure that cookies are visible in all parts of *.worldcommunitygrid.org IE should give you a helpful message about any problems. Look for the security bar popping up, or any notifications in the status bar. |

hmmm compelled....Seem to have read that Opera has passed the socalled "Acid 2" test of standards and Firefox in 2.0+ is aiming to get there, they're so close already. Anyway whenever i have a problem in FFX, i fire up Opera (now build 8473) and only IE when its truly a secure site that has only MS in mind. They only said they would be 'more' compliant. Quite a few pages on Opera and FFX rendering correct look like....lost for words.
----------------------------------------Enjoy...meantime, try adding the forum pages also to the trusted sites, but then you have to untick "only secure pages" option in trusted sites. and finally its 21c

Make sure that cookies are visible in all parts of *.worldcommunitygrid.org IE should give you a helpful message about any problems. Look for the security bar popping up, or any notifications in the status bar. OK, I get an new page, whether I asked for it or not and it says ... Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: To try to fix this problem, click Tools, and then click "Diagnose Connection Problems..." Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: Internet connectivity has been lost. The website is temporarily unavailable. The Domain Name Server is not reachable. The Domain Name Server does not have a listing for the website's domain. If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. I've been through all the seetings I can find, and added, ticked, unticked, reticked anything and everything ... In FF you get a pretty yellow address bar denoting you are in/on a secure site ... I did find lots of references to Vista's IE7 new stance on HTTPS ... http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/10/22/483795.aspx don't know if that is of any help. ![]() |
