I had a machine where I tried to install the grid agent. And something always seemed to go wrong. So I reinstalled XP and service pack 2. The grid agent was running fine till I installed virusscan enterprise 8.0i on the machine now I get a window without any text and then the agents quits. Anybody seen this problem and know how to fix it?

Here is the thread about the problem with McAfee Virusscan 8.0. They ran into the same problem over at grid.org. I have not followed up and checked their forum yet for answers.

Another one to watch out for is McAffee Parental controls. It would allow the agent to download only a meg of data and then block the rest. So the agent could never get a full work unit so it would abort and try again and again and again....
