Hello !
I've got a problem with the device manager tab on the "my grid" page. When I click on it, it says : Error * The application is unavailable at this time, please try again later. Your action has resulted in an error. Only thing is that it has started +- 3-4 days ago. So in fact I cannot see my results with BOINC, which is quite annoying. Can sb tell me what's happening ? Thanks. Duanra |

In the past, this error has been caused by people changing their BOINC profile at a different project site, and setting something to something WCG can't parse.
Have you done this recently? |

duanra,
----------------------------------------Einstein@Home allowed you to enter in 45.0 for the 'Switch between applications every:' field. This field was expected to be a integer field and so the parser is having a problem parsing the decimal value. If you change this field to 45 at Einstein and then update your general preferences then you will be able to access those pages here. We will be changing the way we parse the XML files from BOINC to reduce these integration problems in the future. Kevin [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at Jun 7, 2006 3:15:17 PM] |

OK ! Thank you very much for this answer.
(I'm just wondering how come you know I set to switch every 45 minutes between the applications ???) |

Kevin is a WCG tech. See over on the left?
He has access to your BOINC preferences, which are stored on the server. The preferences also keep track of which project was last to update them. Your preferences are stored locally, too - in global_prefs.xml As you can see, there is no personally identifiable data there. |
