Reference this previous thread and the last explanation, i think i can document that it does not matter what i'm working on....my claim is always the same per hour CPU time.....

on a trail of something else, in the last week i've been receiving WU's that remain in Pending Validation for a wee while which ask: "what's wrong with this picture ?":

Workunit Name Status Sent Time Time Due /
Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit

When running on UD, my machine gave a 172 performance rating consistently, where we have been told that the max you get is 200. Assuming that the BOINC claim algorithm is not far off, why is my claim
59=172% and the other claim 133 equating to 387%. Odds are, have been for the others, that the 3rd claimant will put in a number around my number of 59, dismissing the 133, but out of the 10 i've seen sofar, 2 times, these excessive claims came together in two and me as the low dismissed. Figure that.

I have witnessed the same but from the perspective of being one of those who claimed 133 while others claimed 60 to 80. Ocassionally, I was delighted when another such as me claimed 133 but put an end to that when the last update came out which was about the time I figured out why my claims were so high.

The claim calculation was not written in stone by gods. It was written in C by mere mortals and made public. Anybody who has the ability, time and inclination to cheat can alter the calculation, recompile the code and claim whatever they want per WU. They may not receive what they claim but that depends on how well the dogs watch, maybe they do, maybe they don't. And then there's the "averaging effect" of the quorum, though that might be beaten by a clever team acting in unison.

If you would rather claim 133 than 59 then think Truxoft. That is not to say Truxoft is a cheat or condones cheating but if you read and play you will see. No, I won't spoil your fun by telling you. I know you love the journey as well as the destination. The points are a total farce and absolutely meaningless.
