Now that is weird me and my buddy at work were chatting about the discovery channel program where that effect was demonstrated literally only yesterday (Friday). He said they focused the sound waves onto the fluid and light was the result. It's was an experiement for one step towards nuclear fusion. The same program had the guys who claimed to have created nuclear fusion in a test tube or Coldfusion (Coldfusion is my favourite database driven website creation markup language the graphs and stats on the Spread the word feature on wcgwiki are all Coldfusion).
----------------------------------------The night sky as you have seen turned out crystal clear it's going to be freezing tonight. Does anyone know why the moon looks red when completely eclisped. Is it our Sodium Street lighting or defracted Sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere, like a sunset? I've always been the one to ask the awkward questions Off to check those stats ![]() |

Diana G the total eclipse of August 1999 had us sitting in a field just north of Teignmouth. Early in the morning you could see the bite the moon took out of the side of the Sun but the Bristish Weather robbed us of a view at total eclipse.
----------------------------------------I was still an experience though to have it go dark in the middle of the day and the whole country just came to a standstill, cars just abandonned everywhere. ![]() |

It's the Sunsets from around the World that give the Moon it's red tinge

Dave, I thought you might find this interesting. I have a widget on my Google page that shows me NASA's astronomy picture of the day, and this was what was up two days ago --- an artist's impression of a total eclipse of the sun, as viewed from the moon, complete with the red halo that is responsible for the moon's red colour during our lunar eclipse :)

Hi All and a late Welcome to twong12!
Robby I was wondering if those pics of yours are including your workplace? I really think they are lovely and I thank you for posting them! For some reason I keep recalling them into my mind throughout the day and just plain ole enjoying them! Gotta get to work LOL It's a 45 min drive... God Bless, Diana G. Thank you for the kind reviews! All but the Flag shot are from the Marina where I work. It was a dark night and a gray day here. March had roared in and left the Chairs on the Deck Stacked with fluff!. I tried earlier to get he same night shot but goofed it! Because Y'all were so nice I'll dare Another! Tug and Crane sRobby |

(Coldfusion is my favourite database driven website creation markup language the graphs and stats on the Spread the word feature on wcgwiki are all Coldfusion). That's cool. I like the new graph you put up. I almost said something to you when I seen there was no graph for a few days, then the new one was put up. I check everyday cause I put up 2 banners on MySpace, and the other day I sent out a bullitin with a banner in it. I'm wondering if my 102 friends think it's a spam bullitin. Hmmm, gotta find another way to have them click on it to at least check it out! I periodically post a new blog with the information about WCG and send out a bullitin again with an explanation and link to the WCG websight. David, I was wondering...when you put your mouse on the banner you get the little white box that says, World Community Grd. Do something useful with your computer...or something like that. Then when you look in the left hand bottom of your screen the link shows up as: wcgwiki.org/spreadtheword/count.cfm?UniqueID=127. I left out the www. Now, I think when people see that they think it's a spam link. I know it sure caught my eye cause it didn't match up with the white box saying world community grid. But I know that I am the 127th person to register at wcgwiki to put up banners, but other people don't know that that is all it means and that the banner will bring them to WCG. Do you have any suggestions? Although, I did get 9 hits off of my first banner I put up! I had to click it once to make sure it worked. So I am still at 10, when my profile count on MySpace is up to 739 views. The people are viewing the banners, no doubt about it. Getting them to click is what takes some doing. Thanks David! That a great link giddie sunsets around the globe
----------------------------------------I have this one as my wallpaper at the moment. Be prepared for a long wait it's about 8Mb. The link is to the page to select the download http://ciclops.org/view.php?id=2588 it's an awesome sight. Hi Diana the page unfortunately does have to point to www.wcgwiki.org for my site to count the clickthrough and then send the visitor on their way to the World Community Grid. I had the idea seeing the spread firefox website and tried to get the World Community Grid to give us all one more stat to aim for that of spreading the word. After too many months waiting sometimes you have to do things for yourself. I still haven't gained permission to use the logo above after 2 1/2 years of asking so I don't expect it any time soon. Changing the direction of IBM is like changing the direction of a supertanker. One of the main reasons behind being back just as a happy Master Cruncher. I'm happy to keep hosting the concept/idea on my server as it has amazing support from the members. It's just that I would have thought that IBM would have picked up the baton and run with it by now as we are way past the proof of concept stage - it really works!!! The solution to your spam link problem is for the World Community Grid to take the whole idea under it's wing and then that count link would say www.worldcommunitygrid.org/count.(cfm/jsp/php/asp/aspx)?ID=127 and not www.wcgwiki.org Until then thank you for your support. Here's a link to our top referrer it's funny to see your work "out there" http://info-mauritius.com/Mauritius-WebCam.htm down at the bottom of the page. This page gets about 15,000 hits/month and each one of them has the WCG logo on it. Now that's Each of us can make a difference Dave btw the bar graph stopped working because there are so many entries on there ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at Mar 4, 2007 8:36:35 PM] |
