More links, excellent! We're really getting around, Dave, good work.
I have included your email in my sig. I don't think it attracts spam any more than hiding it behind the envelope but let me know if it's a concern and I'll change it. |

No Problem Dagorath
----------------------------------------I get enough already i've started to use Spamfighter from http://www.spamfighter.com/Default.asp It seems to work and so far no downsides it's a community challenge against spam, I ran it first time against my inbox that I have already picked through and it bagged 600+ (all correct) out of around 3000 I'll get us on the podcast search engines over the weekend But at the moment I'm done for it's been a long week ![]() ![]() |

Yo I've just checked and we are now searchable on iTunes so more people are likely to discover us by accident or design
----------------------------------------So instead of needing to look for World Community Grid hidden in Science and Technology/Computers search terms such as HIV or Cancer will take you there which has just made me realise that I need to add the word research somewhere in the XML feed which is incidentally http://82.163.156.92/podcasts/podcasts/34/myonlinepodcastmember34.xml I don't know but this might be useful as an RSS Feed for a blog somewhere I must keep up to speed with this Internet Technology ![]() ![]() |

I think you're way ahead of me with respect to Internet Technology. Is there anything I can do to help get the podcast on blogs or whatever? I could post the iTunes podcast URL on blogs I run across but maybe there is a better way.
You might also add volunteer and donate to the search terms. There is a typo in Malaria in the search terms. |

Sorted
----------------------------------------If we all take the opportunity to Blog re: WCG and use the feed then there would be 192,000 mentions of the World Community Grid out there. We are starting small but thinking big What was that about a journey starting off with just one step. If we all do our bit, even in our email sigs at work and home then it would soon add up to a madding crowd ![]() |

Dagorath, I came upon this thread and was able to download the .mp4 file for your video, which looks a lot nicer than the Google video that I've been using -- so I'd prefer to use your .mp4 instead, if I can have your permission.
Please take a look at this page for a comparison of the two. By the way, do you know if anyone else has made any promo videos? Thanks. Bill Velek |

Thanks for the link, Didactylos. I've incorporated the video into my webpage -- the link appears first in the 'Quick Guide', and then I use it again when I discuss safety and also avian flu. Regarding the latter, I hadn't heard anything about an Avian Flu project, but the IBM video that was made on May 8, 2006, indicated that such a project was to be launched by WCG this past summer. I assume that has happened; if not, will someone let me know so that I can revise my webpage again. Thanks.

Which video is that? Because it's wrong.
WCG are looking for such projects, and it is highly likely that one will be added in 2007 or 2008. The projects lined up for 2006/7 are more diverse than the medical projects we have run so far, but an Avian Flu project has yet to submit a proposal to WCG. Projects that fit the humanitarian goals of WCG include crop modelling, climate modelling, seismic modelling (earthquakes and tsunamis) as well as the biology and life sciences projects like those we are doing now. In fact, WCG will consider any project that meets the broad humanitarian goals (as well as the technical requirements) of WCG. |
