Dave you've come up with an excellent idea and Dagorath your script is OUTSTANDING!!!!
Nice job!!!! I hope the world will check it out!!!!!! We need there help! What you guys are trying to do is great!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!! Dave can you add the video to blogs? It would be great if I could add it to my blog for all to see when they come to visit! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!! |

----------------------------------------I'm not up on all the various video formats but it appears to me there may be a small problem with having the video in mp4 format. The alternatives to mp4 have issues too. Hopefully Dave or others can shed some light. In the meantime I'll give you my video newbie opinion but don't quote me on it. Mp4 is mpeg-4 which requires licensing. I've found there are no free mp4 players for Windows. Linux apparently has a free mp4 player called mplayer but I've not tried that yet. Dave could have chosen to use other formats (eg. avi, mpeg-1) for which there are plenty of free players such as Windows Media Player but those formats require huge file size. Mp4 is a compressed format and produces much smaller files with little loss in quality. The video I produced for Dave is 26 meg in mpeg-1 and plays in WMP, the mp4 version is only 4 meg. There may be bootleg mp4 codecs for Windows but I'm not aware of any. Dave could distribute the video in mpeg-1 or avi but not many people will download something that big unless it has naked people in it. Correction>>>> Quicktime 7.0.4 plays mp4 video on Windows and it's free. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 7, 2006 9:21:47 AM] |

For the comments and your right about the download. If there ain't naked people in then most people won't do it. Hopefully Dave can come up with a way for us normal people to get it without the naked ones.lol Just have to see if there's a way to get it. I'm most interested to see how it turned out and maybe be able to use for promo with the TV stations around my area. Maybe IBM will add it to the WCG home page. I'm  that would be a great idea. |

I also had to doodle my own graphic as the WCG graphic is copyrighted which is absurd. Please could you subcribe to the podcast instead of just playing it as a clip as that way you only download it once. Otherwise there isn't enough room on my link to the internet to post on the WCG Forum. Ah ha a solution to that problem you think To see the Video you just need iTunes which installs Quicktime 7 or Quicktime 7 which installs iTunes  Those Mac Mini's look great, sorry the whole Apple thing just got hold of me for a mo Enjoy and be inspired to put together you own contribution to spreading the word, send me your mp3's and video's to the email address behind the envelope and I'll broadcast them to the world for you Thanks Dagorath, kudos on being the first Dave  |

You're welcome, Dave, and thank you for converting and compressing the video, submitting it to iTunes and hosting it on your server. I subscribed to it at iTunes and I must say the quality of the video and audio is every bit as good as the original, great job!!
Thanks to Apple too for providing the free Quicktime player and linking the video at iTunes. |

Thanks-- I subscribed to this via Itunes. When I started watching it, about halfway through, it paused and then went back to the beginning.

----------------------------------------Have you subscribed or have you tried to get the download from the front page. On the front page I think the duration is limited to 30 seconds There is a subscribe button next to the badly drawn logo. This should cause the whole of the podcast to be downloaded Hope this helps. If not try deleting the subscription and having another go. Maybe that server of mine is just too busy delivering thousands of downloads and you have been short changed Dave |
