download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

Hi,
I'm using boinc 5.4.9 with Ubuntu Dapper, and systematically when the client try to download rosetta 4.21 WU, I've got this error :
mar 30 mai 2006 02:40:13 CEST|World Community Grid|Checksum or signature error for lin_paths.txt
mar 30 mai 2006 02:40:14 CEST|World Community Grid|Unrecoverable error for result fa827_17_1 (app_version download error: couldn't get input files:<file_xfer_error> <file_name>lin_paths.txt</file_name> <error_code>-200</error_code></file_xfer_error>)

Everything is OK when the WU is FAAH.

Any idea ?
thanks in advance (and sorry for my bad english).

It is possible that the file is corrupted. Do you get this error for any work unit, or just this one?

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

I've got this error for any Rosetta work unit, with a FAAH WU there is no problem.

I've tried to reset the project and to reinstall boinc without success.

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

Well, resetting the project rules out a lot of possibilities.

Did you install BOINC from the official version, or did you compile it yourself? Have you checked the versions of the BOINC dependencies?

Perhaps you can help trace the problem by using the <net_xfer_debug> flag in log_flags.xml

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

There is no log_flags.xml file in the boinc folder, only these :

client_state_prev.xml
client_state.xml
get_project_config.xml
global_prefs_override.xml
global_prefs.xml
gui_rpc_auth.cfg
lockfile
lookup_account.xml
master_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
projects
remote_hosts.cfg
sched_reply_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
statistics_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
stderrdae.txt
stdoutdae.txt

I'm using the official version 5.4.9-1 from pkg.alioth.org, the dependencies seem OK, apt didn't show me any warning.

I've noticed that lin_path.txt is present in the project folder but empty.

Possibly the documentation was out of date. Try this: http://boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/client_msgs.php

One thing - I have seen a lot of problems with the Ubuntu BOINC agents. I recommend that you go to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php and install the official BOINC build. After trying that let us know if you continue to have problems.

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

I've just tried with the official compiled agent and there is the the same problem sad
maybe it's a question of library, but I don't have a clue which one.

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

I've reinstalled completely ubuntu, tried with the older version of BOINC 5.2.13 and I continue to have this problem.
I've also ran Ethereal to monitor the connection. The result is TCP checksum errors, but I'm not an expert so if somebody can help me to understand what's happening confused
Here is the ethereal log : http://jejebr.chez-alice.fr/divers/checksumproblem

Re: download error / checksum failed with lin_path.txt

It's a binary log. I can't even read it, let alone understand it. Can it be exported as text?
