smile Come on the rest of you Guys
I often see you browsing the Team Thread and it only takes a couple of minutes to post a message

tired I am starting to get burned out trying to run this thread almost single handed, although there are a few exceptions of course, who do make an effort to post

I am beginning to wonder if posting the daily stats, the DC-Stats and the Member in the Spotlight, as well as the Certificates, is becoming a waste of time
It really seems like most of you dont seem bothered with my effort to post the Certificates that show appreciation for your efforts, as hardly anyone even acknowledges them any more
sad All this stuff is very time consuming and I am beginning to feel like it is in vain

fearless captain,

rest assured that your efforts are not in vain. the reason you often see many of us browsing the team thread is that we know there will always be something new for us to see. without your efforts, and with nothing new to see (certificates, DC-stats, member in the spotlight, etc.) we wouldn't be as likely to drop by. this would, in effect, cause us to feel less loyalty to the team because we wouldn't feel much connection to each other. so, i guess what i am saying is that your efforts, while seemingly unappreciated, are the very foundation of our team cohesiveness. biggrin

we should probably do more to show the appreciation we feel for your work blushing

however, many of us are just not the talkative types. we are, by our very nature, content to sit in the background doing our jobs without much interaction with other people. i have contributed over 3,000,000 points to the team and have fewer than 60 posts in all the forums, team or otherwise. it's nothing personal, it's just the way we are. wink

keep the fans blowing and the cpu's glowing cool

He has had a nice steady month of crunching
He's contributed 26,878 Points in 28 days
That is an average of 959 points per day
He's a very important part of the MOT's success

Graham,

Just to say the reason I joined MOT was because of this thread and the website (and the certificates).

You are right, we should all post more... Just to spark some debate....
(OK I guess I could look elsewhere but if someone has already done the research).

One of my machines is an Athlon 4600+ with PC3200 memory in it... is it worth upgrading to faster memory to get my scores up? If so, any idea what boost I would get (I have a gig in there at the mo).

God help me - a Gig of memory. Mine is a similar spec.

I am smiling to myself here because I had a 386 in 1988 with a whopping 20 **Meg** hard drive. Was it Win 3.1 then?

Oddly, I seemed to have a raft of handy programs like Word Perfect, Harvard Graphic and even a tank game or two.

Now I am like you - wondering if I shouldnt boost my RAM to 2 Gig...

RAM won't make a difference to your results, it's 99.9% CPU action going on.

smile Hi Paul
I added an extra Gig of Ram and it made no difference to my results on an AMD Athlon 64
