I truely believe you are on to something here. The rate of increase of new and inventive ways of intrusion is almost incalculable. No one really knows whats comming next and I would prefer they just stay away. This is especially true in this brave new world of the patriot act! I may not have anything to hide but a little heathy paranoia wouldn't hurt. That is especially true when I don't know what is being asked for--or accepted. If only 0.000001% of these stealth scans is collecting private information about me, for whatever reason, than its got to stop. Thats what firewalls are for and mine has a log file of blocked intrusion attempts a mile long (or approx. 1.7 kilometers to y'all metric folks!)

First, these aren't "stealth scans" or "intrusion attempts". Second, a mile is ~1.6km, not 1.7km. Finally, your firewall is supposed to stop these by default. We only need to figure out the best path to your point of entry to the Internet, which is your firewall (or your machine if you don't have one). Beyond that, the routing is all up to you.
