Check out some of the following google results. Nothing shows in the boinc wiki. What is the problem that you are experiencing when you see this error message?

Try running BOINC with the -no_gui_rpc option. Alternatively, run BOINC as a daemon. As far as I can recall, doing this merely prevents you from using graphics - and as WCG doesn't support graphics anyway, you shouldn't experience any problems.

It's possible BOINC was running a benchmark at the precise time you checked.

Something odd is going on. I'm running a few tests myself.
Anyway, you can't use -no_gui_rpc if you need to manage BOINC remotely. Other possibilities for the bind problem are: the socket is in use by something else, or the socket is being blocked by an over-zealous firewall or security program. What firewall/anti-virus do you use? When you first had this problem, were you launching BOINC by starting BOINC Manager, or were you starting it stand-alone? |

In the PC that I did the test,I'm still launching BOINC by starting BOINC Manager is no problem, but in the command mode, use -no_gui_rpc were made the mistake. ![]() ![]() |
