It would be nice to see an estimate (on the stats page) of the percentage of work completed/left for the entire project.

Hello,
I have posted the same issue in another thread. Three other users replied and supported the idea. Goals are very important in order to encourage the users. I would appreciate if an administrator of the World Community Grid would state on this topic. Cheers, Chris |

TKassis, Christian
I couldnt agree more. It would add a limited resource (points) edge to the competition as well. The main inhibitor that I can find from the posts on smaller work units is that the actually work involved is unknown. This being the prime reason then chose Grid computing as a solution over traditional supercomputer timesharing. The counter to this is that each task has a % tracking bar that increments... and this implies that the size of each job in known in some way. Perhaphs the results themselves feed other work units. Howerver that said I dont really have a clue but I love the project. Yamas, Christian |

I totally agree with this idea of having a sort of a progress meter that would show us (the key people in this project by the way...!!!!) how we are making things progress overall. Honestly, it does not matter to me that 70 thousand some results were sent back if I don't know how many there are to complete to make this project a success.
Generally speaking, I find that there is very poor information about the outcome of the project and how exactly this will be made available to the world scientists for their medical resarch so MR IBM, could you for once communicate a bit more effciently on this project |

Keep in mind that the World Community Grid is simply supplying the Institute for Systems Biology with computer power. The real site to learn about this is http://www.systemsbiology.org/ I have only gone through part of it myself. And of course, they have the people who know the answers to your questions. We're just a bunch of crunchies here.
