I have a dual core amd opteron, and as I see, the ud client uses only 1 core... ...only if you use the BOINC client. You may be able to run the UD client on one core and BOINC on the other, or BOINC with a workunit on each core.Is there any possibility to use all cpu cores?

BOINC allows you to multi-thread to run on multiple processors or cores.

Instructions for conversion to BOINC are here . It includes how to get 2 problems running simultaneously (one on each core). The other solution mentioned was to run BOINC on one core and the older agent on the other. I did this for a while and it worked for me without problems. If you want to do that, the instructions will still work, just don't do the uninstall part. Happy Crunching and thank you for your contribution.

Hello Karlsson,
This tricks a lot of people. After you save a new named profile (Home, etc.) you still have to go to Device Manager and click on the device (computer) that you want to run the new profile. This will take you to a new page where a drop-down menu lets you select which profile you want to run on that computer. Then click Save on that page too. Then you are ready for the next communication with the server to download the new profile. Lawrence |
