Hi there. I was part of FA@H before it moved to WCG. I have tried many times to get the thing working on my machine (Windows ME, cable modem) but what happens is:
I install the software, give it a name, and it starts doing protein folding. I don't want this (no offence to proteins, but I want to help cure Aids). So I log in, uncheck 'protein folding'. Then I uninstall, reinstall the WCG agent, give it the same login name, and it's agent paused forever. I have tried setting up the WCG user name before installing the agent, but the same thing happens - I can get protein WUs, but not FA@H ones. Anyone got any ideas what's going on? Cheers J |

The most likely problem is your computer doesn't meet the requirements for FAAH. FAAH needs more memory than HPF.
But don't worry: by crunching HPF, you are freeing up another computer on the grid to crunch FAAH. The WCG load balancer will keep things fair. |

The minimum requirements for each project are listed here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq
FAAH requires at least 250 MB of RAM but HPF only needs 120 MB of RAM. Lawrence |
