Different Users Windows Profiles

Hi,

I have installed the latest UD agent of 10 P.C's where I work. I installed them using the administrator account. When a normal user logs in, they are prompted for a username and password for the UD agent. If I enter my credentials, then that user is never prompted again, but if a different user logs onto the P.C, then the problem reoccurs for them.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks

Michael

Re: Different Users Windows Profiles

It is possible to run ud.exe as a service to make it user independent.

This is only one thread that discusses it. I see several by searching for "run service".

A far simpler solution for this is to use BOINC. The BOINC installer understands about such advanced (not!) concepts as multiple users, and also offers a service install. So, migrate to BOINC. You can even push BOINC out to multiple PCs at once using Group Policy.

Re: Different Users Windows Profiles

There are at least two solutions to the problem. One is to run BOINC.

Instructions for converting a UDAgent Machine to a BOINC agent machine are HERE

Another is to install the UD agent as a service. Instructions for that are HERE
