I don't understand it. Nearly all indicators are pointing in the right direction, yet the media keeps telling us how bad it is. Crazy!
His approval ratings might be down, but I think Bush is doing a great job considering all we've been through. Besides, I won't want another "popular" president like our last one. ![]() |

Besides, I won't want another "popular" president like our last one. What is Bush if he's not "popular"? (Except for where he's deeply unpopular, of course!) Bush has caused so much trouble because people love him or hate him. And when they love him, it is because they like a dude cowboy, folksy, "man-of-the-people" guy in charge. But clearly, he's not remotely a man of the people. He's so dumb it beggars belief. Whenever I see one of his press conferences, I ask myself, "How can someone so tongue-tied, so inarticulate, so stupid, be elected to any office at all, least of all that which is often touted as the most powerful in the world?" And what makes you think the war's going well? Did you know Bush declared that the war was over, several years ago? Many thousands of lives have been lost since that precipitate ammouncement. |

[dd]He's [Bush] so dumb it beggars belief. Whenever I see one of his press conferences, I ask myself, "How can someone so tongue-tied, so inarticulate, so stupid, be elected to any office at all, least of all that which is often touted as the most powerful in the world?" The standard and accepted metaphor for the entire U.S. Presidential election process is "the race for the White House." In strictly neutral terms (neither for or against Mr. Bush) your statement translates to: "How could a cripple with one artificial leg possibly win what is supposed to be the most grueling marathon in the world? How pathetic!" This is certainly one possible interpretation. ![]() |

If the cripple bought the race, then they would be the subject of derision - and you would have a more accurate metaphor.
Getting there is all well and good. Doing the job is another thing. So far, Bush Junior has been nothing but a puppet to larger (and more evil) intellects. I don't think Bush is a bad person (although I don't share many of his values or opinions) but he simply isn't equal to the task. He has done major damage to US foreign relations. And "The race for the White House" isn't strictly a metaphor, it's another trope which slips my mind for the moment. I think. |

I have heard this statement so many times in the past and still wonder about why people think that Bush (or any other US president for that reason) is puppet? Can you name those "more evil intellects" by name? There are a lot of things I don't agree with Bush on. Thus I didn't vote for him last election. (Just to clarify I didn't vote for Kerry either. I am conservative in my believes.) But conspiracy theory do not fly with me. Name the names man. |

In my eyes, your president, not only Bush, like to impose your so-called liberty and democracy on other countries. In fact, there are your benefits in those countries, for example, resources, oil, etc. However, the price is expensive. So many soldiers's lives........

Nothing wrong with democracy. It is important to note, however, that the US is a republic. :-D
