Running on a second machine

I have downloaded and installed the program on the computer I am using now. It is working fine. I have accessed this forum with my user name and password. When I try to set up the second machine, even with a different email address and user name, it comes back with the window that says I am a previous user, and my password and /or user name do not match our records??????
I cannot get the second machine running. What do I do?
Thanks

Download and install the agent on the second computer. When you first run it, you'll see the registration dialog. Check the checkbox to indicate you are already a member and fill in your proper member name and password.

Re: Running on a second machine

I have done all that, and it does not work. When the dialog box comes up for registration, I click, already a member, and fill in my current details, and it comes back with, user name or password not recognised.
If I fill in the form as a new user, it returns to the previous user dialog box.
Thanks

Re: Running on a second machine

I do not know what has happened, but I now have it working. After uninstalling and reinstalling the program about 5 times, and numerous connection attempts, it has finally accepted my user name and password, and installed on the second machine.

cool Re: Running on a second machine

I do not know either, but I have noticed a number of similar issues. For example, I can return a result hours before the daily update and not have my points show up on the update. It shows up on the next update. A new member can post to the Forum, but SEARCH insists that there is no such poster. Then the next day SEARCH has no trouble finding their posts.

My guess is that the project is set up to handle a very large number of transactions efficiently, with a number of steps in the data base that we do not see. It takes time for new entries in the data base to percolate to all the lists and until they do some functions do not work as we want them to do. But enrolling multiple machines is a high priority issue that should be given rapid response. I hope the systems people will go the extra mile on this.

Re: Running on a second machine

I now have two machines running the Proteome program, and My Member Area page shows details of only one device, and under device installations, it shows 1 device. If I click Device MAnager, it shows both of my devices. How can I get my second device scores to show up?
Thanks

Re: Running on a second machine

There is a 24 hour wait after the first return is sent from the new machine. Then you will see it.
