Re: GP Qualifying (More interesting than the race????)

I was wrong !!!!

Alonso nicked it from Schumacher

Our Man Button did the honourable British thing and allowed everyone else onto the podium finishing 4th

Roll on next week in Malaysia

I thought the first race of the season was at the Olympic Games opening ceremony. Ferrari's test driver Luca Badoer was smoking donuts in Michael Schumacher's V10. No other cars participated.

Re: GP Qualifying (More interesting than the race????)

Oh yes, I like it when Schumacher doesn't win. I personally don't like the guy, although he has been the best driver around for quite a while.

I think F1 is getting some better (finally). I've seen more overtaking in this one single race then I have seen in the entire last season! wink

I'm looking forward to see the A1GP race later this evening. That's a competition which I like very much. All the same cars and a lot of things going on on the track! Great concept!! Oh, and 80% of the world's population is represented in this competition already! cool

Re: GP Qualifying (More interesting than the race????)

Congratulations to Fernando for the win, Michael for P2, and Kimi for driving all the way through the field for a much deserved P3.

Yes, Indeed. The fun is back in F1. biggrin

Only on Sky Sports in my part of the World not being the biggest Football (Soccer) Fan could never justify the extra £££'s

+ 2 Motor Races in the same day shock Mrs Autumns would never let me get away with it. One of the benefits of the Sky+ Box (Like Tivo but better wink ) is the fact you can fast forward through the blab to the parade lap and then whiz through the adverts biggrin

A marriage saver rose

Re: GP Qualifying (More interesting than the race????)

Well David, you didn't miss too much. The race last night was rubbish. It was raining a lot and there was no speed at all.
The second race was dry, but was a disaster for my country (Netherlands). Our driver got a drive through penalty for overtaking during a safetycar period and later one for speeding in the pit lane at his first drive through. The joke is that he actually did not overtake anyone in the safetycar period, so he decided to just quit the race! cool

But how is it possible that they don't broadcast it on a regular channel? I don't know how things go in the UK, but I assume that there are also regular channels and not only pay-tv?
Will they broadcast next season, since popularity is gaining and there's also a race at Brands Hatch again?

Re: GP Qualifying (More interesting than the race????)

Yes i saw some reports in Sundays paper--NASCAR is popular here but for the most they are a bunch of overpaid brats--it was fun back in the 60s and 70s
