A Lecture from Lee Hood founder of the ISB

http://www.uwtv.org/programs/displayevent.asp?rid=1055

This was given at the University of Washington in 2000 but is an insight into the promise of the HPF project

(Little note to Julied and followers of the Discovery Channel Thread, get ready for the LOL when he mentions that the Digital Code of the Genome has evolved wink)

Enjoy all

Dave

Nothing like constructive controversy to wake up the brain.

Admittedly I do not spend much time investigating the structure of the academic/research community regarding the Human Genome Project. Still, there was an article in the BBC today which contained no mention of our own project. confused At face value, it would appear to be an oversight. The article and specific "Search Links" that came up empty as follows:

BBC Article
“Genome's knowledge ‘avalanche’”

Dr Francis Collins, the scientist leading the Human Genome Project, says he expects important new gene sequences governing aspects of personality, such as intelligence and behaviour, to be known very shortly. Dr Collins directs the US National Human Genome Research Institute
