Spycatcher 2006 causes agent to crash.

After installing Spycatcher 2006 Express on my Win XP SP2 machine, the agent pauses with a message about the agent crashing and restarting.

Had to uninstall Spycatcher, reboot and re-install the agent to get the agent working again.

I'd really like to have bot Spycatcher and the agent running on my machine.

Searches here, the web and the Spycatcher site do not have any hits about this problem.

Has anyone also had this problem? Were you able to fix it?

Thanks,

Rick

only thing i know is mcafee's on-access virus scanner slows down the computer when WCG is running.

Re: Spycatcher 2006 causes agent to crash.

One of their products has a constantly running scanner ... could be causing the problem. What about a freeware product like AdAware, that only runs as a scan when you do one?

I have a test of a Microsoft antispyware thing on one machine, which scans daily ... and is causing no problems with the WCG agent.

All antispyware programs are a bit different. I have seem recommendations to run 2 or 3 different ones to catch the most programs.
