ive installed boinc on a server running windows server 2003, but cant connect to the agent using boinc manager from a windows xp machine on the same lan. i get the following message:
boinc manager is not able to connect to a boinc client. would you like to try again? ive set the gui_rpc_auth.cfg password the same. ive tried using the servers ip address instead of its name and still no luck. |

Hi adam-k
I think the service needs checking. From your XP machine, open the services console (Start > Run > Services.msc), right click the computer name in the left panel, sleect 'Connect to another comupter...' and enter your servers name. Check A) that BOINC is there and B) that it's running C) Change the properties so that it runs under the local system account. Regards Slug |
