Morning All
I origianlly setup two device profiles for my BOINC PCs to use. One was the 'default' one, which was adjusted so that only one processor was used (for Hyperthreading PCs) and one for 'work' which was to be used by PCs with Dual Cores. A few days back, I was checking my PCs and noticed that the Dual core machines were only crunching one unit at a time. Eventually, I found that under my BOINC device profiles, I now have 2 'Default' profiles and no 'work' one. Both 'Default' profiles appear to be the same single profile as if I change a setting in one , it is reflected in both. I can't however set either profile as the 'Default' one (ie tick the checkbox under the profiles name in the list of options) I have recreated the 'work' profile and my Dual Cores are now crunching two work units at a time. I'm wondering if there is some kind of problem with the WCG profiles ? Regards Slug |

Looking at the Wiki:
http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?tit...27%3B_using_your_defaults The 3 established preference venues are home, work and school. Default is used when no other venue is assigned. If you only need 2 venues, then you can skip default altogether. |

Thanks mycrofth, but hopefully this image explains the problem a little better. (Sorry, but I couldn't think of a way of posting an image until now
 ) (The 'work' and 'home' profiles were added this morning) The second 'Default' item used to be 'work' |

Looking at your image and your description, it indeed looks as is there is a malfucnction of some sort. I am alerting the techs about it.

You do in fact have a problem and I'm trying to figure out how the extra 'Default' got in there. Once I understand that and get that fixed I will manually correct your profile. Kevin |

I have fixed The Lazy Slug's problem manually and we will be deploying the application fix to prevent multiple default venues from being created the next time we release a change for the site (it will be within a week).
