I am currently unable to start boinc. I am getting the following message in the log:

I would appreciate any help in getting the machine back up and running. Thanks, Jim Engle |

Hello jbengle,
I'm not sure either. My guess would be that it cannot find an expected library routine in the path, but I feel sure that somebody who knows will post the answer before noon tomorrow. mycrofth |

Check out this defect report for BOINC:
http://bbugs.axpr.net/bug.php?op=show&bugid=145 Is it possible that some other process has bound to ports that BOINC needs? |

Thank you very much for the pointer. The bug report suggested removing lock files and rebooting the machine, this appears to have fixed the problem. Since this is a Linux machine, it does not get re-booted very often.
I appreciate your help. Thanks, Jim Engle |
