In another thread, a WCG member pointed out that Windows diagnostic tools had been recommended by a Community Admin to a member that was running Linux. All of us who accepted the volunteer positions as Community Admins in order to provide support to the membership did so when the only platform running the World Community Grid was the Windows environment. Because of this, most of us are not well versed in the Linux platform, although we are making some effort to come up to speed.
My purpose in starting this thread is to solicit suggestions as to what tools we might recommend in the FAQ for use to diagnose system problems or to provide support services in the Linux environment. The types of diagnostic programs and utilities would be similar to those listed in the Useful Utilities thread in the FAQ forum. I appreciate any recommendations you may post here. Best regards, |

http://members.dslextreme.com/users/billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html That is all really ... Linux has built-in "Cron jobs" that it will perform every night so no need for much more than the above. Linux is a "tool" in it's own right. ![]() |
